Commercial dumpsters are medium capacity containers that are available in sizes up to 8 yards.  There are two main types of commercial dumpsters, front loader, and rear loader.   Both dumpsters have similar sizes but differ in how they are dumped and loaded.

Front loader dumpsters have slots on each side of the bin that a dump truck can stick its front spikes into.  Rear loader dumpsters have a more complicated loading mechanism that involves a hinge and a winch.

Compactors

Compactors are fully enclosed trash bins that allow you to utilize a metal blade to compact the waste inside.  Compactors are available in sizes ranging from 2 yards to 40 yards.

Compactors do however have access to electrical power and are more expensive upfront.

Specialty Dumpsters

Specialty dumpsters are usually pulled behind a normal truck and have rubber tires. These dumpsters typically range in size from 10 yards to 25 yards.  These types of dumpsters are perfect for small to medium-sized home projects.  They are also more maneuverable than other dumpsters which makes it possible to place them in difficult to reach places.

Another benefit of specialty dumpsters is that they aren't as harsh on the ground.  This makes them perfect for stamped or heated driveways.
