3 Tips For Renting Dumpsters in Park City

As winter comes to an end and summer is in sight, many of you are starting to plan your home projects.  Whether you are planning a new addition, are doing remodels in your home, or are landscaping,  chances are you are going to need to rent a dumpster to accommodate all of the trash.

Renting a dumpster isn't always the most straightforward decision.  As you decide that you need a dumpster,  you'll likely have a few questions.

How much do dumpsters cost?  How big of a dumpster do I need?  How can I make sure I am getting a good price? Are there different types of dumpsters? which one will work best for me?

These three tips will help you decide what kind of dumpster services you are looking for, how to get choose the right type of dumpster, and how to get the correct sized dumpster.

Tip 1:  How Much Do You Want To Be Done?

Dumpster companies often offer a variety of services.  They range from simple dumpster rental to full-blown construction site cleaning.

The service that you decide to choose is ultimately going to have the biggest impact on your pricing. The first thing that you need to decide is how much work you are going to be doing and whether you will be making a big enough mess to have professionals come and clean it.

If you are planning on doing a complete home remodel,  having your dumpster company do a construction cleaning might be a good idea, depending on your budget.

Tip 2: Get Multiple Dumpster Estimates

While on the surface it could seem like dumpster businesses could all be alike, they differ greatly in pricing.

Some dumpster companies will charge for fuel or miles driven, while other will price the dumpster rental alone.

It is important that you ask how a dumpster company figures out their pricing and then ask for an estimate of exactly what you will need.

Getting multiple estimates from different companies will help ensure that you are getting price gouged and will give you a better understanding of how each company charges.

Tip 3: Choosing the Correct Type of Dumpster.

There are three main types of dumpster rentals: front loader dumpsters, roll off dumpsters, and specialty dumpsters.

Front loader dumpsters are the type of dumpster that most of us are used to seeing behind public building and restaurants.  They usually have a flip over top and max out at 8 cubic yards in size.

These dumpsters are typically good for events, and small room remodels. Anything bigger than that and you will find yourself filling these dumpsters up pretty quickly.

Roll of dumpsters are typically found on construction sites and are characterized by their size and open tops.  A roll of dumpster normally ranges in size from 15 cubic yards to 40 cubic yards.  These are great for big remodels and whole home construction projects.

The biggest benefit of a roll of dumpster is the capacity that they give you.

The third type of dumpster available is a specialty dumpster.  Specialty dumpsters aren't very common to most dumpster companies but they are available.  We have specialty dumpsters for hard to access areas.

Our rubber tired dumpsters make it possible to get a dumpster into places that roll off dumpsters can't.  If you have a hard to access driveway, are doing work on a particular part of your home that isn't very accessible, or have a stamped driveway,  a specialty dumpster could be your answer.

Choosing the correct size of dumpster comes down to the size of your project.  If you have a rather small remodel of a couple of bathrooms and one bedroom, a 15 yard will likely do the trick(depends on the home size of course).

For whole home construction projects, we recommend 40-yard dumpsters.

If you are on the edge with sizes, it is better to get a size bigger than to get a size smaller.  If you get to small of a dumpster you will need to have it dumped and then brought back which will increase your cost.

Additionally,  bigger dumpsters normally come with larger capacities.  This means that you can fill up your dumpster with more weight before being charged extra.

Conclusion

If you are looking to get a dumpster rental in Park City, make sure to get multiple estimates,  evaluate your project and see what services you want,  and if you are on the fence about the size of dumpster to get, get the bigger one.
