With summer around the corner,  you might have a couple of projects on your mind.  For most small projects and remodels,  most people can handle their own trash either by putting it in their curbside dumpster or with a pick-up truck.  There are some projects though, where you will need to consider renting a roll-off or specialty dumpster to help.

Below are five projects where you will likely need to get a dumpster rental.

Whole Home Remodel

If you are living in a home that is old and dated, a whole home remodel can be a great way to revivify and improve the value of your home.   Whether you are looking to sell or simply want a living space that is better suited to your needs, a whole home remodel can be a great project.

Whole home remodels are often incredibly messy, even more so than new construction sites at times.  Because things are already in place,  tearing down drywall and walls will create a big mess.  With a whole home remodel, there is no way to dispose of the trash with a truck or your curbside dumpster.  This is especially true if you want to finish your project on a prompt timeline.

New Roof

A roof typically has a lifespan of between 15 and 30 years.  Your roof could be on its last legs and could start to cause serious problems.  If it is time to replace your roof,  you might need to rent a roll-off dumpster, depending on which roofing contractor you choose.  A roof tear-off will typically result in more than a thousand pounds of waste.

If you are in need of a new roof,  you will want to double-check with your roofing contractor if they provide dumpster services.  Many will require homeowners to coordinate with a dumpster company.  Often, a roofing tear-off will require multiple loads from a roll-off dumpster.

Landscaping

Home landscaping projects are a great way to add value and improve your home’s aesthetic.  If you are looking into a full landscaping project, you will likely need a dumpster.  A dumpster can be used to not only haul the trash but also to haul dirt, wood chips, and sod.

Your dumpster size will depend on how big of a yard and how much landscaping work you are having done.  We typically recommend our biggest dumpsters for landscaping projects.

Driveway Replacement

After years of harsh weather, driveways can become worn, cracked, and damaged.  A driveway replacement can be a big project but can also improve the value of your home and make it ready to sell.

When replacing a driveway,  thousands of pounds of concrete and will need to be removed and hauled away.  To avoid damage to your vehicles and to properly clean up the mess, you should rent a dumpster for this project.  You will want to be aware of the dumpster rental weight limits due to the weight of concrete.

Siding Replacement

If your home is starting to look dated or if your siding is looking too old and cracked, replacing it can add new life to your home.  Normally,  siding pieces are very large and won't fit into most truck beds or small dumpsters.  If you are replacing the siding on your home,  rent a large dumpster to make sure that you have enough room for all of the scraps and long siding pieces.

Conclusion

With summer around the corner, you might be considering a summer project.  If you are doing a siding replacement, driving replacement, landscaping, new roof, or a whole home remodel you might need to get a dumpster rental.
